P\u016fvodn\u011b byla vyvinuta v roce 1935 jako \u201cAlloy 61S\u201d a jedn\u00e1 se o precipita\u010dn\u011b tvrzenou slitinu legovanou p\u0159edev\u0161\u00edm ho\u0159\u010d\u00edkem (Mg) a k\u0159em\u00edkem (Si), kter\u00e9 b\u011bhem um\u011bl\u00e9ho st\u00e1rnut\u00ed tvo\u0159\u00ed silicid ho\u0159\u010d\u00edku (Mg\u2082Si).
