Het bevat voornamelijk koper en wordt vaak gemengd met mangaan en silicium. Deze legering staat bekend om zijn grote sterkte en goede hittebestendigheid. Alloy 2019 is uniek in zijn groep.<\/p>\n<p>Het koper in de legering maakt het sterker dan veel andere aluminiumlegeringen. Maar deze sterkte heeft een keerzijde.
