Aluminum Sheet Production Process

Linsy aluminum sheet production follows a rigid process focused on quality and precision. The cycle begins with melting and purification in the Melting Furnace, followed by refining and filtration. The clean metal is then formed via Continuous Casting and Rolling (or Hot Rolling) into thick slabs.

The aluminum achieves its final gauge and properties through Cold Rolling and Annealing, ensuring superior flatness and temper. The sheets are finished via Precision Shearing and advanced Surface Treatments like Anodizing or Powder Coating. Key equipment includes the 1+4 Hot Tandem Mill and Six-Roll Cold Rolling Mill.

1. Melting and Initial Purification

The process begins with melting aluminum scrap and primary ingots in the Melting Furnace to form a molten bath. This is followed by a crucial Refining step, where fluxes and inert gases (such as Argon or Chlorine) are introduced to remove non-metallic inclusions and hydrogen, ensuring the chemical purity of the alloy.

2. Molten Metal Filtration

After purification, the liquid metal passes through specialized filters. The Ceramic Foam Filters or Deep Bed Filters capture remaining fine solid particles. This critical step ensures the molten metal is exceptionally clean, preventing internal defects like pinholes and enhancing the final product’s surface quality.

3. Initial Forming: Casting & Hot Rolling

Purified metal is cast into thick ingots. These ingots are heated and rolled at high temperatures through the powerful 1+4 Hot Tandem Mill . This mill aggressively reduces the ingot thickness and provides the basic plate structure, optimizing the internal grain structure for subsequent processing.

4. Precision Gauge Reduction (Cold Rolling)

The material is then processed at room temperature on the Cold Rolling Mill. Our advanced Six-Roll Cold Rolling Mill applies high pressure to precisely reduce the material to the customer’s final target thickness while simultaneously improving the sheet’s surface smoothness and flatness.

5. Annealing for Temper Control

To regulate the final mechanical properties, the coils are placed in a controlled atmosphere Annealing Furnace. This heat treatment relieves internal stresses induced by cold rolling, restoring ductility and achieving the specific temper (e.g., soft O temper) required for final application and fabrication.

6. Finishing and Precision Shearing

The finished material is fed into Precision Shearing equipment or Slitting Lines. These machines accurately cut the material to the exact final length and width, ensuring superior dimensional tolerances and a high-quality edge finish tailored to customer specifications.

7. Protective and Decorative Surface Treatment

Based on order requirements, the sheets receive final treatment. This may include the Anodizing Production Line for enhanced corrosion resistance and aesthetics, or a Coating/Painting Line for durable color finishes, adding value and longevity to the product.

8. Secure Packaging and Dispatch

The final sheets or coils are securely stacked and protected with interleaving paper and film. Automated Strapping/Wrapping Machines are used to create robust, moisture-resistant packages, guaranteeing the material arrives at the global customer’s location undamaged and ready for immediate use.
