5083 aluminum square bar is a non-heat-treatable, high-magnesium alloy (AlMg4.5Mn0.7) valued for its resistance to seawater corrosion and excellent weldability. With its high magnesium content it provides robust performance in harsh environments and is commonly supplied in H111, H112, H116, and H321 tempers for structural and marine use.
Available forms: square bar
Common tempers: O / H111 / H112 / H116 / H321
Processing support: CNC machining, cutting, welding, anodizing, polishing
Quality documents: MTC report with every order
5083 Aluminum Square Bar is a non-heat-treatable aluminum-magnesium alloy (AlMg4.5Mn0.7) supplied by Linsy Aluminum. It is one of the strongest work-hardenable grades and is widely specified for marine, offshore, and cryogenic service because of its excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and its ability to retain strength after welding. Common tempers include O, H111, H112, H116, and H321.

5083 is non-heat-treatable — tempers are produced by strain hardening and stabilization, not by solution heat treatment.
Strong work-hardenable grade suitable for loaded structural components.
Excellent in seawater and aggressive atmospheres.
Welds readily with TIG/MIG using ER5183 or ER5356 filler.
Good ductility in softer tempers for bending and forming.
5083 welds well with conventional processes (TIG/MIG) and retains most of its strength in the weld zone. For welding filler, ER5183 or ER5356 wire is commonly used. The alloy has only moderate machinability compared with heat-treatable grades, and cutting tools should account for its gummy chip formation.
Every 5083 order ships with a material test certificate (MTC) that reports the actual chemical analysis and mechanical results for the supplied lot. Third-party SGS test reports are available on request. Standard mill inspections cover dimensional tolerance, surface condition, and tensile verification per the ordered specification.
Linsy Aluminum is a Shenzhen-based aluminum manufacturer with over 20 years of production experience, supplying the 1000–8000 series across plate, bar, tube, wire, coil, profile, and block. For 5083 square bar, we support custom dimensions, small minimum order quantities, and short lead times.
Standard side lengths range from 6 mm to 200 mm, with custom lengths from 1000 mm to 6000 mm available.
H111, H112, H116, and H321 are common for 5083 square bar in marine and structural applications.
Yes. 5083 machines acceptably with sharp tools and proper coolant; it is gummier than heat-treatable grades.
Custom 5083 orders are usually produced and shipped within 10–60 days, depending on temper, size, and quantity. Contact us with your drawing or specification for a firm schedule.
We support low minimum order quantities for standard tempers and common sizes. Non-standard dimensions are quoted case by case.
Yes. A material test certificate (MTC) is provided with every order, and third-party SGS test reports are available on request.
Mill finish is standard. Anodizing, polishing, powder coating, and PVC film protection can be arranged.
Yes. CNC cutting, sawing, and machining services are available so material arrives closer to your net shape.
