Mechanical Properties by Temper

The values below are typical room-temperature properties for the indicated condition and should be confirmed against mill test data for your specific casting and heat treatment. Casting method, section thickness, and cooling rate affect results.

Temper Tensile Strength (MPa) Yield Strength (MPa) Elongation (%)
F (as-cast) 240–295 130–155 1.5–3.5

Temper Selection Guide

Choose the temper based on your priority between strength, ductility, and dimensional stability:

Temper When to Use
F (as-cast) As-cast, no heat treatment. Best economy and dimensional stability for die and sand castings.

Key Characteristics of A413 Aluminum

Exceptional Fluidity

The high silicon content gives A413 outstanding die-filling capability for the most intricate shapes.

Hot-Tear Resistance

Resists cracking during solidification, enabling large thin-wall sections.

Corrosion Resistance

Good atmospheric and general corrosion resistance for indoor and light-outdoor use.

Common Applications

  • Automotive transmission cases
  • Intricate electronic housings
  • Street light fittings
  • Furniture castings
  • Parts requiring pressure tightness

Processing & Surface Finish Notes

A413 is normally die cast and used as-cast (F). It is not heat treated. Machining uses carbide tooling given the high silicon; painting and plating are common finishes. Anodizing is limited by silicon content.

Quality Documents & Inspection

Every A413 shipment is delivered with an MTC (material test certificate) covering chemical composition and mechanical properties as ordered. Dimensional inspection and third-party verification (e.g. SGS report, available on request) can be arranged. Our production system is managed under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.

A413 Aluminum FAQ

A413 vs A380 — what is the difference?

A413 has higher silicon (11–13% vs 7.5–9.5%) for better fluidity and thin-wall capability, but lower strength than A380. Choose A413 for intricacy, A380 for strength.

Is A413 heat treated?

No. A413 is used as-cast (F) and gains its properties from composition and die-cast process alone.

General Ordering FAQ

What is the typical lead time for casting alloy orders?

For standard ingot and common sand/permanent-mold castings, typical lead time is 10–60 days depending on temper, quantity, and any required machining or surface finishing. Confirm exact timing with our sales team when requesting a quote.

Do you provide mill test certificates (MTC)?

Yes. Every shipment is supplied with an MTC (material test certificate / inspection report) covering chemical composition and mechanical properties as ordered.

Can Linsy supply custom casting sizes and tempers?

We support custom dimensions, casting method selection, heat treatment (F, T4, T5, T6 as applicable), and downstream CNC machining, polishing, and anodizing. Share your drawing or spec and we will quote against it.

Which standards do your casting alloys meet?

Our casting alloys are produced and inspected against widely recognized standards such as ASTM B26/B85 and EN 1706. Specific designation cross-references are listed on each product page; confirm the exact standard requirement for your market when ordering.

How should I request a quote?
