5083 aluminum round tube is a non-heat-treatable, high-magnesium alloy (AlMg4.5Mn0.7) built for marine and offshore service. It offers excellent seawater corrosion resistance, retains strength after welding, and performs well at cryogenic temperatures. 5083 Aluminum Round Tube is a non-heat-treatable aluminum-magnesium alloy (AlMg4.5Mn0.7) supplied by Linsy Aluminum. It is one of the strongest work-hardenable grades and is widely specified for marine, offshore, and cryogenic service because of its excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and its ability to retain strength after welding. Common tempers include O, H111, H112, H116, and H321.

5083 is non-heat-treatable — tempers are produced by strain hardening and stabilization, not by solution heat treatment.
5083 resists seawater and industrial atmospheres better than most aluminum alloys, making it the default marine grade.
Among the strongest work-hardenable aluminum alloys, with good strength even at low temperatures.
Welds cleanly with TIG/MIG; strength in the weld zone is largely retained when using ER5183 or ER5356 filler.
Toughness and strength are maintained at very low temperatures, suitable for LNG and cryogenic tanks.
5083 welds well with conventional processes (TIG/MIG) and retains most of its strength in the weld zone. For welding filler, ER5183 or ER5356 wire is commonly used. The alloy has only moderate machinability compared with heat-treatable grades, and cutting tools should account for its gummy chip formation.
Every 5083 order ships with a material test certificate (MTC) that reports the actual chemical analysis and mechanical results for the supplied lot. Third-party SGS test reports are available on request. Standard mill inspections cover dimensional tolerance, surface condition, and tensile verification per the ordered specification.
