6111 aluminum alloy (EN AW-6111, Al-Mg-Si-Cu) is a heat-treatable 6000-series grade developed for automotive body panels and structural parts. It offers an excellent mix of formability, strength, corrosion resistance, and surface quality, and age-hardens during the paint-bake cycle for lightweight vehicles. Linsy supplies 6111 as sheet, tube, bar, and profile in T4/T6/T82 with made-to-order sizes and an MTC on every order.
Available forms: sheet / coil / bar / tube / wire / profile
Common tempers: T4 / T6 / T82
Processing support: blanking / stamping / welding / surface finish
Quality documents: MTC report with every order
6111 (EN AW-6111, Al-Mg-Si-Cu) is a heat-treatable 6000-series alloy developed primarily for the automotive industry. It combines strength, corrosion resistance, formability, and good surface quality, making it especially suited to body panels and structural automotive parts. Its ability to age-harden during the paint-bake cycle is a key advantage for lightweight vehicle bodies.

The dominant form for automotive outer and inner panels, supplied in T4 (pre-bake) and further strengthened through forming and paint bake.
Round, square, and flat bars for machined and structural components.
Round and square tubes for structural and reinforcement parts.
Drawn wire for welding and assembly.
Extruded profiles to drawing.

Typical reference values; confirm against the ordered standard and Linsy’s mill data. Note that 6111 is often supplied as T4 and reaches higher strength after the automotive paint-bake cycle.

Designed for deep drawing and stamping with a clean surface finish for painting.
Age-hardens during the paint-bake cycle, gaining strength in the final part.
Good for exposed automotive body applications; compatible with common treatments.
6111 machines well in the soft (O) and solution-heat-treated tempers; T6/T651 tempers are stronger and can work-harden at the cutting edge, so sharp tooling and appropriate feeds are recommended.
6111 is generally weldable using TIG or MIG processes with matching or 4043/5356 filler, depending on the service requirement. Welded zones lose some strength compared with the base temper — design accordingly for structural use.
Forming is best done in the O or T4 condition. Final strength is developed by the specified temper; do not re-heat-treat without confirming the alloy’s response.
Common finishes include anodizing, polishing, and powder coating. Anodizing quality depends on surface preparation, so confirm finish requirements before production.
Every 6111 order ships with an MTC. Surface-quality and mechanical checks can be arranged per automotive specifications. Confirm the required standard (ASTM, EN, GB) when ordering.
Linsy operates a Shenzhen production base with over 20 years of experience supplying aluminum semis to global B2B buyers. We handle the 1000 through 8000 series and support both standard stock sizes and made-to-order dimensions.

Primarily automotive body panels and structural parts that benefit from formability plus strength after paint bake.
T4 is soft enough to form, then age-hardens during the paint-bake cycle to final strength.
It is weldable, but for body applications joining is often by adhesive/bonding and mechanical means; confirm the process for the part.
Standard stock items usually ship within 10–30 days. Custom sizes, tempers, or surface finishes typically require 30–60 days, depending on specification and order volume.
Yes. Every order ships with an MTC reporting chemical composition and mechanical properties per the ordered standard.
Yes. We supply standard and made-to-order dimensions across sheet, plate, bar, tube, and profile, and can arrange specific tempers on request.
Operations follow ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. Material can be supplied to ASTM, EN, GB, or JIS specifications as required.
Standard seaworthy export packaging with moisture protection is used; specific requirements are confirmed at order.
