T5 is cooled from extrusion and artificially aged, giving good strength with efficient production for most frameworks and displays. T6 is solution heat treated then aged, providing the highest 6063 strength for structural or load-bearing tube. Choose T6 where the design needs more margin, and T5 where finish and cost lead.

The alloy performs well in normal atmospheric and mildly industrial environments without extra coating.
