Linsy A380 is the most widely specified aluminum-silicon-copper die casting alloy. It combines excellent castability, good mechanical properties, and economic pricing, with resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and reliable dimensional stability in complex, thin-walled parts. A380 is normally used in the as-cast (F) condition without further heat treatment, though T5 is sometimes applied for added stability.
Formulários disponíveis: ingot / die casting / sand casting / permanent-mold casting / CNC-machined cast parts
Temperamentos comuns: F (as-cast) / T5
Suporte ao processamento: CNC machining / polishing / anodizing / heat treatment
Documentos de qualidade: Relatório MTC em cada pedido

Linsy supplies A380 in the forms most useful for foundries and component buyers. Standard and custom dimensions are available; contact our team for non-listed sizes.
| Formulário | Typical Size / Specification | Common Use |
|---|---|---|
| Die casting | Per drawing; wall 1.0–6 mm | High-volume thin-wall parts |
| Sand casting | Per drawing | Lower-volume housings |
| Permanent-mold casting | Per drawing | Structural components |
| CNC-machined casting | Tolerances per ISO 2768 | Finished parts |
The tables below list the alloy’s common commercial and standard designations. Cross-references follow widely used naming systems; verify the exact designation required for your target market.
| Sistema | Designação |
|---|---|
| Former / trade style | A380 |
| AA (Aluminum Association) | A380 |
| PT | EN AC- series (market dependent) |
| ASTM | ASTM B26 / B85 (castings), B179 (ingot) |
Composition limits below follow common casting-alloy standards. Values are weight percent, balance aluminum. Confirm exact limits against your required specification.
| Elemento | Content (wt.%) |
|---|---|
| Si | 7.5–9.5 |
| Fe | 1.3 max |
| Cu | 3.0–4.0 |
| Mn | 0,50 máx |
| Mg | 0,10 máximo |
| Zn | 3.0 max |
| Ni | 0,50 máx |
| Others, each | 0,05 máximo |
| Others, total | 0,15 máximo |
| Al | Restante |
The values below are typical room-temperature properties for the indicated condition and should be confirmed against mill test data for your specific casting and heat treatment. Casting method, section thickness, and cooling rate affect results.
| Temperamento | Resistência à tração (MPa) | Resistência ao escoamento (MPa) | Alongamento (%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| F (as-cast) | 310–340 | 155–165 | 3.0–4.0 |
| T5 | 310–340 | 160–180 | 2.5–4.0 |
Choose the temper based on your priority between strength, ductility, and dimensional stability:
| Temperamento | When to Use |
|---|---|
| F (as-cast) | As-cast, no heat treatment. Best economy and dimensional stability for die and sand castings. |
| T5 | Artificially aged only (no solution treatment). Improved strength with lower cost and distortion than T6. |
High silicon and copper give A380 superior fluidity and filling of thin, complex dies at high production rates.
Among the strongest common die-cast alloys, A380 suits load-bearing brackets and housings.
Low tendency to warp or shrink supports tight-tolerance high-volume production.
A380 is normally die cast and used as-cast. Machining, tapping, and vibratory finishing are standard. Plating and powder coating are common; anodizing is limited by the high silicon content and is not typically recommended. Welding is generally avoided for structural die-cast A380.
Every A380 shipment is delivered with an MTC (material test certificate) covering chemical composition and mechanical properties as ordered. Dimensional inspection and third-party verification (e.g. SGS report, available on request) can be arranged. Our production system is managed under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Linsy operates a Shenzhen-based aluminum manufacturing facility with over 20 years of experience across the 1000–8000 series and a broad range of casting grades. We support both ingot supply and finished cast components with in-house CNC machining, polishing, and anodizing.
A383 has higher silicon and better fluidity plus improved hot-cracking resistance, preferred for very intricate or thin-wall dies. A380 offers slightly better strength and is the general default.
Usually no — it is supplied as-cast (F). T5 may be used where added dimensional stability is required.
For standard ingot and common sand/permanent-mold castings, typical lead time is 10–60 days depending on temper, quantity, and any required machining or surface finishing. Confirm exact timing with our sales team when requesting a quote.
Yes. Every shipment is supplied with an MTC (material test certificate / inspection report) covering chemical composition and mechanical properties as ordered.
We support custom dimensions, casting method selection, heat treatment (F, T4, T5, T6 as applicable), and downstream CNC machining, polishing, and anodizing. Share your drawing or spec and we will quote against it.
Our casting alloys are produced and inspected against widely recognized standards such as ASTM B26/B85 and EN 1706. Specific designation cross-references are listed on each product page; confirm the exact standard requirement for your market when ordering.
Use the RFQ form or contact our sales team with alloy, temper, form, dimensions, quantity, and required certificates. Our engineers will respond with availability and pricing.
