What Is 2030 Aluminum Alloy?

2030 aluminum is a free-machining alloy in the 2xxx series, containing approximately 3.3–4.5% copper with manganese and magnesium additions. It is designed for high-speed automatic machining operations where short, broken chips and clean surface finishes are essential.

Compared to 2011 (the most common free-cutting alloy), 2030 offers higher tensile and yield strength while maintaining excellent machinability. It is typically supplied in T3 or T4 temper and is particularly suited for precision-turned components, fasteners, and automotive fittings.
