T6 / T6511 are the standard tempers for 6064, providing the high strength and stable machining behavior needed for valves, fittings, and fasteners. T6511 is the common extrusion temper; choose it unless a specific drawing calls for another condition. Annealed (O) stock is available where maximum formability is required before machining.
