6060 aluminum is a heat-treatable Al-Mg-Si alloy widely used for architectural extrusions where a clean surface after anodizing matters. It offers moderate strength, good corrosion resistance, and easy fabrication.

6060 is a lower-strength member of the 6xxx (Al-Mg-Si) family, closely related to 6063 but with slightly tighter impurity control. Its main advantage is excellent extrudability and a smooth, bright finish after anodizing, which makes it the default choice for decorative and structural architectural profiles.
Like other heat-treatable alloys, its strength comes from the magnesium-silicide precipitate formed during the T5/T6 aging treatment. In the O temper it is soft and easy to bend; in T5/T6 it reaches moderate structural strength.
Custom cross-sections per drawing; typical section size 5–400 mm, tube outer diameter 6–300 mm, wall 0.5–20 mm, length up to 6000 mm (or coil for small sections).
Thickness 0.5–150 mm, width 500–2600 mm, length 500–12000 mm. Sheet is typically 0.5–6 mm; plate 6–150 mm.
Round bar diameter 6–400 mm, length up to 6000 mm; cut to size on request.

6060 flows well in the extrusion press, allowing thin walls and complex shapes at good press speed.
It produces a uniform, bright anodized layer, which is why it dominates window, door, and decorative trim.
Good in atmospheric and mild industrial environments; suitable for indoor and most outdoor architectural use.
Readily welded by TIG/MIG; post-weld strength in the heat-affected zone is lower than the parent T6, so design accordingly.
Enough for architectural and light structural roles, but not for highly loaded structural members (use 6061/6082 instead).

Yes. 6060 is a heat-treatable 6xxx alloy; its strength develops through T5/T6 aging.
They are very similar. 6063 is slightly more common for premium architectural anodizing; 6060 offers comparable finish with marginally different impurity limits. Either works for most trim.
Yes, and it anodizes to a bright, even finish — this is its primary selling point.
O, T4, T5, and T6. T5 and T6 dominate architectural extrusion.
MOQ depends on form and temper. Standard sections and tempers can start from a few hundred kilograms; custom-dimension or special-temper orders are reviewed case by case.
For stock-available tempers, lead time is typically 10–30 days. Custom extrusion or heat-treated conditions may take up to 60 days. Confirm with our sales team at enquiry.
Yes. We offer cutting, CNC machining, welding, anodizing, and polishing. Provide your drawings or dimension list with the enquiry.
Every order ships with an MTC. SGS or other third-party test reports can be arranged on request.
