What Is 7049 Aluminum?

7049 aluminum is a high-strength 7xxx series alloy with high zinc and copper content, formulated primarily as a forging grade. It offers excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and good machinability, which makes it a frequent choice for critical structural forgings in aerospace and missile applications.
