T6 / T6511 are the standard tempers for 6064, providing the high strength and stable machining behavior needed for valves, fittings, and fasteners. T6511 is the common extrusion temper; choose it unless a specific drawing calls for another condition. Annealed (O) stock is available where maximum formability is required before machining.
Bismuth and tin promote short chip formation, improving tool life and surface finish in high-volume turning and milling.
