5083 Aluminum Square Tube is a non-heat-treatable aluminum-magnesium alloy (AlMg4.5Mn0.7) supplied by Linsy Aluminum. It is one of the strongest work-hardenable grades and is widely specified for marine, offshore, and cryogenic service because of its excellent resistance to seawater corrosion and its ability to retain strength after welding. 5083 is non-heat-treatable — tempers are produced by strain hardening and stabilization, not by solution heat treatment.

Welds cleanly with TIG/MIG; strength retained in the weld zone.
Maintains toughness at very low temperatures.
5083 welds well with conventional processes (TIG/MIG) and retains most of its strength in the weld zone. For welding filler, ER5183 or ER5356 wire is commonly used. The alloy has only moderate machinability compared with heat-treatable grades, and cutting tools should account for its gummy chip formation.

Third-party SGS test reports are available on request. Standard mill inspections cover dimensional tolerance, surface condition, and tensile verification per the ordered specification.
